#ThriftyThursday: Don't judge a book by it's cover.

May 17, 2018

For Mother’s Day, I left my home in the prairie of Northern Ohio to visit my daughter, [Lauren Deitering, Manager of Marketing & PR for Goodwill], in Louisville. She spoiled me by taking me Goodwill shopping! We went to the St. Matthews store, and I was a bit underwhelmed when we pulled into the parking lot.*

A bit hesitant, we entered the store, and I quickly realized that I shouldn’t have judged this book by its cover. Within minutes, Lauren and I had piles of name brand clothes in our arms! I have been shopping at my Goodwill store back home dozens of times, but I have never been able to easily find such an abundance of high-quality, trendy items.

I left the store with three complete outfits, but today, I am just writing about my favorite. The dress (My Michelle, retails for $60), cost just $5.59. I quickly grabbed a pair of shoes just to try on with outfits, but then I realized I wanted to keep them! They were priced at $3.99. My complete outfit cost less than $10. Stay tuned to see my other outfits!

Editor’s note: We hear you, Mom. We understand that the parking and entrance isn’t ideal, and the store doesn’t fit the aesthetic of its surrounding neighborhood. We are in the process of relocating … just a few hundred yards away from our current store!
