#TrendyTuesday: A swing dress for spring weather

#TrendyTuesday: Molly made her first debut on the blog this week! I sat down and she hopped up beside me; she must love Goodwill as much as I do! In other news, I purchased this entire outfit for less than $11. I’m a big fan of spring stripes and swing dresses, but it takes the right pieces to coordinate. Here’s how:

Swing dresses are so effortless and trendy. I purchased this navy and lime one as part of the color of the week sale for only $2.65 at the Elizabethtown location! I am sure at your local store you will find a dress (or maybe even a skirt!) that flares at the waist. Polka dots and stripes are EVERYWHERE this spring, so keep that in mind when shopping.

Being petite, I like to accentuate my waist whenever it’s possible. I once saw a friend wear a top tied around her waist and loved it! This St. John’s Bay denim button-up was just $3.99 from the Murray location! If you’re looking for something similar, I suggest going up one size. This will ensure the sleeves are long enough for this look.

A neutral comfortable shoe is a real gem. I found these Sperry original loft shoes in PERFECT CONDITION for just $3.99 from the Stonewall location (Lexington). The canvas on the sides are striped and patterned. Seriously, SO CUTE! I am sure this will not be the only time you see them featured here on the blog.

The main point I’m getting at is that simple is MORE than ‘just okay.’ Keeping your look classic and casual makes a statement bigger than my dress’s stripes! Happy thrifting, friends!
