#TrendyTuesday: Team gear on a bracket budget

The countdown for March Madness is officially on! For all NCAA basketball fans, game day is crucial in showing just how loyal you really are. Instead of paying University bookstore and sporting goods store prices, Goodwill has team wear for the whole family! I will always shop for blue; GO CATS! But, I ran across a variety of colleges, even out of state, and professional teams at Goodwill. Here is a look perfect for any sporting event and age!

Puffer vests have been popular the past year. I purchased this Calvin Klein on the specialty rack at the Ring Road location (Elizabethtown) for just $11.99! It’s the perfect shade of blue, great quality, and is lightweight! Tip: If you’re attending a game, consider trading in a bulky winter coat for a vest in your team’s color. It’ll be less to keep up with and more bleacher space.

This knit UK long sleeve is so comfy and warm! It’s a step above a basic t-shirt, but still casual enough to be worn with athletic pants. I snagged it from the Berea location for just $3.99! Tip: Avoid a plain tee; keep your eye out for a team jersey in the men’s section or a nice blouse. You’ll love all the photos and feel great!

These Ann Taylor Loft black skinnies are hands down the most comfortable pair of jeans I own! I purchased them at the Berea location in part of the color of the week sale and paid just $2.65. Tip: I am always on the hunt for nice denim; you can never have too many thrifted pairs!

A UK embroidered tote ties the whole look together! I found this bag at the Stonewall location (Lexington) in perfect condition for just $3.99. Tip: It’s so easy to lose track of your belongings at the stadium/arena. By carrying a purse with extra room for programs and tickets, you won’t have to worry about anything but the score!

Supporting your favorite team shouldn’t cause a dent in your budget. I am certain that you can find your family’s gear at your local Goodwill!

We help people with disabilities or other disadvantages achieve and maintain employment to gain a better quality of life.

what we do

Goodwill collects and sells donated items to fund programs for Kentuckians who have disabilities or other challenges in finding and maintaining traditional employment.
