#ThriftyThursday: How to style a winter's wardrobe

January 18, 2018

#ThriftyThursday: Kentucky turned into a winter wonderland this past week! With inches of white dust and chilling temps, I’m here to show you how to throw a trendy (and warm!) look together when it’s below freezing! With just five basic pieces, it’s so easy to outlast the fashion game.

I started with a classic fit Talbots cotton white turtleneck. When I purchased it from the Brannon Crossing location (Nicholasville), I was blown away that I was paying just $3.99 for a top that had a $59.95 original tag attached. The relaxed, casual fit makes it easy to dress it up and down! To add some depth, I added a hunter green Sanctuary utility vest for just $6.29 from the St. Matthews location (Louisville)! Because of the cinched waist and deep pockets, it’s perfect for every season. Tip: Mix neutrals; you’ll feel like your closet doubled in size!

In a previous blog, I told you that these Aeropostale jeans would be a staple this season, and here they are again! My tip for this time of year is to always stick with dark wash! They seriously coordinate with almost everything in your winter wardrobe! My pair was just a $5.29 purchase from the Glasgow location.

To add a pop of color, I chose to add this teal blanket scarf and vintage, handmade crossbody! Together, these accessories were just $5.78 from the New Circle location (Lexington).

Don’t sacrifice your style because of the radar! Start with neutrals and simply build colorful layers; you’ll be set for the next snowpocalypse thanks to your local Goodwill!
