#ThriftyThursday: Gold sequins are a girl's best friend

#ThriftyThursday: Holiday season is the best season for everything metallic! This look would be perfect for family holiday cards and other fall and winter festivities.

With this look, it’s ALL about the shoes. I came across this pair of Shully’s metallic pointed-toe flats at the Hartland location (Lexington) for just $3.99! They were brand new, never worn. The foil texture and gold plate on top are the ideal holiday event flat.

After I fell in love with the shoes, I picked up this navy and gold knee-length accordion vintage skirt for just $3.99. It’s a Carole Little from the knitwear collection! The hem is woven with gold, shiny thread, and the material is thick. A sleeveless sequined top from Express was 50 percent off with color of the week. I purchased it for just $1.15 at the Stonewall location (Lexington).

I imagine this outfit for holiday photos; just imagine snow on the ground or a decorated tree! I suggest silver, gold, and gem colors for the entire family to picture the perfect Christmas card. Shop your local Goodwill for your festive outfit!

our history

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Louisville since 1923. Goodwill gives people up—not a handout—so they can experience the dignity and independence that comes from earning a paycheck.

our mission

We help people with disabilities or other disadvantages achieve and maintain employment to gain a better quality of life.

what we do

Goodwill collects and sells donated items to fund programs for Kentuckians who have disabilities or other challenges in finding and maintaining traditional employment. On-the-job training, job preparation skills, and employment counseling are just a few of Goodwill's services that benefit thousands of adults each year and strengthen families in Kentucky's communities.
