#ThriftyThursday: A timeless little red dress

#ThriftyThursday: A lady in red has the opportunity to make a bold (and thrifty!) statement. Displayed in front, the Hartland location (Lexington) featured the PERFECT “little red dress” for just $5.29! It just so happens the Elle dress was brand new with tags, originally $64!

There are a few special pieces out there that are intentionally designed to be worn any season. If you are thrifting, take them home! The dress is a nice thick material, made of a cotton and linen blend with metallic silver polka-dotted switching! Needless to say, it’s a great example of seasonal transitions. In the spring and summer, nude heels and a crossbody lighten the look. Whereas in the fall and winter, black tights, booties, a tote bag, and a open-front sweater will pull it all together!

For the first of August, I chose to complete the look with a pair of Sam Edelman block heels and a Victoria’s Secret crossbody. I purchased my heels at the Tradewinds location (Somerset) for just $3.99 and my crossbody new with tags at the New Circle location (Lexington) for just $11.99!

I paid less than $22 for designer tags that will have me looking trendy every season of the year. Visit your local Goodwill for your next year-round find!

our history

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Louisville since 1923. Goodwill gives people up—not a handout—so they can experience the dignity and independence that comes from earning a paycheck.

our mission

We help people with disabilities or other disadvantages achieve and maintain employment to gain a better quality of life.

what we do

Goodwill collects and sells donated items to fund programs for Kentuckians who have disabilities or other challenges in finding and maintaining traditional employment. On-the-job training, job preparation skills, and employment counseling are just a few of Goodwill's services that benefit thousands of adults each year and strengthen families in Kentucky's communities.
