#ThriftyThursday: Keeping your keepsakes safe

July 14, 2017

#ThriftyThursday: Every memento has a unique story! Over the years, my family has collected a few seashells from each beach vacation. Instead of lying on shelves, I purchased this embellished glass hurricane from the Radcliff location for just $2.99!

The Better Homes container was donated with décor inside, so I sorted through and found the prettiest seashells! I kept the shells and filled the empty space with those from my family’s favorite memories. The container’s depth allows room to add future shells.

I love the overall look of this piece; the black metal finishing adds a modern touch. This hurricane would look great in a rustic-themed kitchen or dining area. Lifestyle magazines suggest matching similar items with shiplap and burlap for the picture-perfect look!
