#ThriftyThursday: A sandy getaway in the HOTTEST shorts

#ThriftyThursday: Take advantage of any getaway! Last week, my family and I took a quick escape down south, and I found myself packing for rain and sun. My traveling tip is to think practical and comfortable. Two of our days were filled with sight-seeing, so I walked many miles in adorable thrifted outfits!

One afternoon was spent exploring downtown Jacksonville, which was gorgeous! But, the heat was no joke. Because of the temperature, I wore lightweight three inch in-seam Old Navy shorts I had purchased at the Paintsville location for just $2.79. They have the SWEETEST white seashells printed on them! I paired them with a yellow Talbots sweater top from the Stonewall location (Lexington) and a Tommy Hilfiger belt from the Campbellsville location; both items totaled only $5.78. Thinking practical when packing can go a long way!

The next evening, we went to a marina where locals dock their boats! Knowing the restaurant overlooked the ocean, the breeze called for my FAVORITE cardigan ever! I purchased this perfect condition, H&M yellow and whited polka-dotted cardigan at the Stonewall location (Lexington) for just $4.29. I paired it with a basic, fitted Old Navy tee from the Ring Road location (Elizabethtown) for $2.29, and the cutest J.Crew shorts from the Stonewall location (Lexington) for $2.79!

I had the best week, visiting the sand and sun! Don’t let packing for a vacation feel overwhelming. Shop for travel basics and wardrobe necessities at your local Goodwill!
