When browsing at Goodwill often (OK, daily), I always look for wardrobe staples that I can mix and match with past purchases. You know, the little black dress or a classic white blouse. For this #ThriftyThursday, I am featuring one of my favorite finds: a J.Jill jean skirt from the Columbia store that I purchased for just #3.99. The original price tag of $69.00 was still attached!
A great fitting jean skirt can take you through all seasons and is a good look for all shapes and sizes.
Spring: Rainy days will never get you down with these rain boots and this shiny yellow slicker, which were purchased five years apart from each other! All items for this outfit were purchased at the Columbia store for less than $15!
Summer: Hot and humid? No problem! I’m cool and comfortable. I paid just $1.79 for this Nine West belt at the Columbia Goodwill, which had the original price tag of $34 still attached!
Fall: I love getting out my boots and sweaters for my favorite time of the year. The Ruby Red suede and fleece vest, which I paid $6.69 for, had a $58 price tag attached. What a steal!
Winter: Add some warm outerwear and you are ready! This JG Hook plaid jacket had a $34 price tag still attached, and I paid just $6.29 for it. My Old Navy long-sleeved striped tee also had the original tag of $21 attached, but I paid just $3.99. Normally, I would sport some tights during the winter, BUT it was 80 degrees in the shade, and after many outfit changes, my long-suffering son was starting to lose his patience.
OK, so I just demonstrated all that a staple wardrobe piece can get you through the entire year. Now, what about different occasions? I call this my Mom on the Go” look. The J.Jill tee came from the Campbellsville Goodwill, and the Columbia jacket ($6.29) and American Eagle flats ($2.29) came from the Columbia store.
Next is my casual date night. I added some metallic bling bling, and I am ready to go! The whole outfit features Goodwill finds, by my FAVORITE sparkly black bag was just $3.99!
This next outfit is perfect for work. I purchased this Jones New York button-up for $73 LESS than the actual retail price, which was still attached. Yes, you heard that right! The aqua suede flats and aqua cotton sweater are also both Goodwill finds.
AND there you have it. I invested $3.99 to have a comfortable, versatile piece of clothing that is compatible with accessories and other wardrobe staples. EVERY item I featured today was bought at various Goodwill stores for a grand total of LESS THAN $100! That’s my kind of shopping.

Oh look, ANOTHER combination!
