#ThriftyThursday: Preppy taste at a sweet price

#ThriftyThursday: For sweet summertime, I prefer a southern, preppy flavor! I love bold colors and prints and search for those with designer tags at Goodwill. I purchased my favorite Vineyard Vines dress, the sweetest Lilly skort, and a fabulous ruffled J. Crew blouse together for just $14.06.

I consider the Vineyard Vines chocolate-striped cotton dress my best Goodwill find ever! It retails for $118, but I found it for just $5.29 at the Stonewall location (Lexington). I love its adjustable sleeve length! I dressed it up with thrifted jewelry, tortoise shell sunglasses, and Lucky Brand wedges for an ice cream date.

This was my first-ever Lilly purchase! This skort is PERFECT for a picnic, day out with friends, or dinner on the beach. I purchased it and my J. Crew cotton blouse from the Campbell Lane location (Bowling Green) for just $3.99 each. I paired the same glasses with this look.

Goodwill style is treat as the weather heats up! We’d love to see your preppy summer finds from your local Goodwill store.

our history

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Louisville since 1923. Goodwill gives people up—not a handout—so they can experience the dignity and independence that comes from earning a paycheck.

our mission

We help people with disabilities or other disadvantages achieve and maintain employment to gain a better quality of life.

what we do

Goodwill collects and sells donated items to fund programs for Kentuckians who have disabilities or other challenges in finding and maintaining traditional employment. On-the-job training, job preparation skills, and employment counseling are just a few of Goodwill's services that benefit thousands of adults each year and strengthen families in Kentucky's communities.
