Spring clean: decluttering and donating is always in season

I find the motivation to declutter and deep clean by donating to Goodwill! This spring, I have prepared a few favorite cleaning tips to help you clean up and out.
When I spring clean, I set aside a few hours and boxes. During that time, I follow the golden rule of decluttering, try on my “what if’s,” and then donate to Goodwill!
It is easy to lose track of time and forget to follow the golden rule. If you haven’t worn or used it in the past year, let it go! The same goes with having two similar items. By choosing your favorite and donating the other, you’ll make space for new.
For the pre-loved items that you hesitate to donate, try it on or use it once to see if it’s a perfect fit. If it doesn’t feel right, give it to Goodwill! Bringing this tip to life, Goodwill staff members actually participated in a week-long “I almost never wear this” challenge called “Great or Donate.” You can read more about the challenge here: https://www.thegoodlifeky.com/single-post/2016/07/05/Great-or-donate-A-week-long-I-almost-never-wear-this-challenge, and even host your own!
Goodwill understands letting go of things is hard, so they make it easy. When you donate your previously-loved items, your donations support their mission of helping Kentuckians find jobs so they can support themselves! As an additional bonus, your donations are tax deductible.
Happy spring cleaning!
Best,
A
