Bold or subtle: details make the difference

February 21, 2017

It’s all in the details. My thrifting advice is to pay attention to detail. Whether you are searching for bold brands or creative designs, noticing the small things will give your closet a boost!

I visited both the Ring Road and Dixie Highway locations (Elizabethtown), searching for business and casual wear. I practiced what I preached, and followed my own advice! With thrifted finds from both locations, I created two very different outfits.

Let’s get down to business. I love classy dresses that are modest and bold. I spotted this adorable dress because of its striking color! (Royal blue is always in season, so I constantly keep an eye out.) The swing skirt allows for a perfect fit, but its character is added through the ruffled collar and hem. For a professional look, I paired this boutique-branded dress with black Jessica Simpson heels. The dress cost me only $5.29, and I purchased perfect-condition pumps for just $3.99.

Laid back and casual. I am a big fan of stripes and skinnies. My Calvin Klein Performance sweater is super comfortable and looks great with jeans or leggings! I paired it with burgundy American Eagle skinnies. Between its cuffed sleeves and embellished zippers, the details make this outfit. The top and pants were purchased for only $4.29 each!

Keeping detail in mind, don’t be afraid to try something different! Visit the Elizabethtown locations to enhance your closet’s originality.

Best,

A
