#ThriftyThursday: The perfect fit

#ThriftyThursday: The winter weather we have been wishing for has finally made its arrival. Bundling up on a brisk December morning is a to be done in style.

Finding the perfect winter coat appears as a contest. For a coat to be my “favorite,” it must meet unique requirements: purchased at Goodwill (obviously!), sleeves that hit at the wrist, and the length must be mid-thigh. I scored a Cynthia Rowley tweed coat, this season’s “favorite,” at the Bardstown location for $5.99.

The name brand designer speaks for itself, however the fit and condition were what sold me. Perfectly cut sleeves and a buttoned cowl-neck allow for layers and accessories to be worn underneath for a complete look. This coat is perfect for any occasion, coordinating well with business professoional or denim.

I challenge you to find this winter’s outerwear at your local Goodwill! Thrifting outerwear makes for a warmer winter.

our history

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Louisville since 1923. Goodwill gives people up—not a handout—so they can experience the dignity and independence that comes from earning a paycheck.

our mission

We help people with disabilities or other disadvantages achieve and maintain employment to gain a better quality of life.

what we do

Goodwill collects and sells donated items to fund programs for Kentuckians who have disabilities or other challenges in finding and maintaining traditional employment. On-the-job training, job preparation skills, and employment counseling are just a few of Goodwill's services that benefit thousands of adults each year and strengthen families in Kentucky's communities.
