Harrodsburg's hospitality shown through hardwork
Having been raised in a small town, I appreciate back roads and genuine southern hospitality. In a recent visit to Goodwill’s Harrodsburg store, I found myself at home.
My roommate and I took the short scenic drive from Lexington to Mercer County for a morning of Goodwill hunting. Upon stepping into the store’s front door, I was impressed. I glanced from top to bottom and noted the clean, spacious, and organized sales floor.
As I walked up and down each individual aisle, I noticed every clothing hanger was perfectly assigned on the labeled rack. No stray items were placed randomly, meaning each piece had its own home. After a quick skim of the store, my roommate mentioned, “This store is impressive. The staff obviously does their job well.”
I smiled at my roommate’s comment. Loria, Harrodburg’s store manager, discussed with me the amount of effort her team puts into the store’s appearance every day. Aside from constantly cleaning dressing rooms and tidying aisles, Loria explained her employees’ passion. “We are a friendly store, here to support the mission. Employees are always educating people on what Goodwill does for our community.”
Concerning the community’s donations, I observed a large display of home decor, shoes, and women’s jeans. All merchandise was neatly presented, highlighting items’ high quality and great condition.
My shopping adventure concluded with a BCBG blouse, GAP jeans, a red bubble necklace, a pair of Merona wedges, and a new favorite Goodwill location.
To Loria and her staff at Harrodsburg, your hospitality and hardwork does not go unnoticed! Keep doing what you are doing and take pride in your work. Shoppers and donors appreciate the welcoming atmosphere you have created.
