#ThriftyThursday: Sassy loafers and spring corduroy from Lebanon
#ThriftyThursday: I don’t know what I love more, the frames on the fox, the pockets on my skirt, or the tassels on my shoes! This entire outfit was purchased at the Lebanon location for less than $13. I was really impressed with Lebanon’s inventory. During my search for the perfect spring outfit, I noticed a variety of name brands for men, women, and children with original tags attached! The fox sweater. This cotton Old Navy sweater is super trendy! I found it to be lightly w

Bold or subtle: details make the difference
It’s all in the details. My thrifting advice is to pay attention to detail. Whether you are searching for bold brands or creative designs, noticing the small things will give your closet a boost! I visited both the Ring Road and Dixie Highway locations (Elizabethtown), searching for business and casual wear. I practiced what I preached, and followed my own advice! With thrifted finds from both locations, I created two very different outfits. Let’s get down to business. I love

#ThriftyThursday: Yes, Chuck Taylors do match everything!
#ThriftyThursday: I never grew out of the “Converse with everything” fad. I still love rocking a pair of classic Chuck Taylors! This spring-like weather in February has made me break out my sassy pink high tops. They are comfortable, cute, and full of personality. I purchased my brand new pair of Converse for just $9.99 at the New Circle location (Lexington). In the past, I had always gravitated towards low tops, but when I saw this pretty pair, I HAD to have them. Converse c

#ThriftyThursday: Throwback trends are in style
#ThriftyThursday: Styles that were once loved never fail to make their way back into the fashion scene. Throughout 2016, I noticed a renewed appreciation for the Scottish Terrier design. The terrier print paired with red plaid skirts was popular back in 1970s. While women’s clothing has evolved over the years, the terriers have made their way back into the woman’s closet! I have always been a fan of an original look. I purchased my Scottish terrier sweatshirt at the Hurstborn

#ThriftyThursday: A lady in leather
#ThriftyThursday: Leather layers add character to a lady’s style. However, not every leather jacket is classified as edgy. I recently found three unique leather layers at Goodwill that are classy and feminine! The navy jacket: I LOVE the puffed shoulders and gold accents. It is often thought that dark is difficult to wear. However, this Last Kiss jacket defies that stereotype; it is ladylike with structure. I discovered this chic look at the Radcliff location with an original

#ThriftyThursday: DIY in style
This #ThriftyThursday DIY project is simple and fun! A decorated Mason jar has many purposes, holding makeup brushes, pens, or kitchen utensils. I have been looking forward to finally completing this project. However, finding the materials at a reasonable price stalled the assembly. I took a trip to the Northfield store Tuesday night and found everything I needed for $2.99. Mason jar: Obviously this project calls for glassware. Goodwill has shelves of donated glass, so pick y

#ThriftyThursday: The perfect fit
#ThriftyThursday: The winter weather we have been wishing for has finally made its arrival. Bundling up on a brisk December morning is a to be done in style. Finding the perfect winter coat appears as a contest. For a coat to be my “favorite,” it must meet unique requirements: purchased at Goodwill (obviously!), sleeves that hit at the wrist, and the length must be mid-thigh. I scored a Cynthia Rowley tweed coat, this season’s “favorite,” at the Bardstown location for $5.99.

Harrodsburg's hospitality shown through hardwork
Having been raised in a small town, I appreciate back roads and genuine southern hospitality. In a recent visit to Goodwill’s Harrodsburg store, I found myself at home. My roommate and I took the short scenic drive from Lexington to Mercer County for a morning of Goodwill hunting. Upon stepping into the store’s front door, I was impressed. I glanced from top to bottom and noted the clean, spacious, and organized sales floor. As I walked up and down each individual aisle, I no

#ThriftyThursday: Winter's cape cut
#ThriftyThursday: Coming back into the fashion scene, cape-styled outfits are making a debut this season. Capes flatter any figure. The runway is rocking cape dresses, sweaters, and coats in a variety of colors, prints, and fabrics. Cut for a petite fit, I snagged this chic Gap cape at the Radcliff location. My Goodwill find is of winter wool and cinched at the waist. Chocolate-colored undertones highlight the plaid’s navy base. With a folded collar and coordinating buttons,

#ThriftyThursday: Best of Betsey
#ThriftyThursday: Aside from the famous “little black dress,” every girl needs a large black tote for the winter season. I discovered this quilted Betsey Johnson beauty at the Fern Creek location. When visiting Goodwill stores, I always look behind the counter for unique, mint-condition finds. I spotted this #ThriftyThursday and immediately requested to take a closer look. I was impressed with the quality of donation; the tote appeared barely used. Betsey Johnson, one of my f
